ABOUT THE CAR

The concept was outrageous, built at huge expense not one but 25 Le Mans challengers, thereby qualifying for ‘sports car’ status, sidestepping a 3.0 litre prototype limit.

At a stroke, the resultant 4.5-5.0 litre 917 (the largest capacity air cooled race car ever) rendered its prototype rivals obsolete. Truly one of the most iconic race cars in the history of motorsport. Whilst at first it had been an unwieldy beast, tamed for 1970, it had the measure of its rivals.

For two seasons it trampled its opposition and won world championship race after championship race, including Le Mans in 1970 and 1971, subsequently its speed dubbed as ‘too fast’ at over 240mph lead rule makers to throw out large capacity race cars from endurance racing; at which point it turned its sights to America where it proceeded to shatter its rivals in turbocharged form, cementing its legacy as one of the greatest racing cars of all time.

This livery is the 1971 Gulf liveried 917k, raced by motorsport British legend Derek Bell and Swiss Jo Siffert at the 1000km Monza, where it placed second, only behind its sister Porsche 917k.

This premium diecast kit features 794 pre-decorated parts giving you 20+ hours of build time.

ABOUT THE CAR

The iconic bright yellow of Gaillo Orion makes for the most eye-catching finish. Every single detail of the original car has been faithfully depicted, with the trademark scissor doors and hidden door handles, Y-shaped daytime running lights, and even the nuances of the mighty V12 engine all included.

Measuring 60cm long, 29cm wide, and 15cm tall, this model should be at the centre of any display once you’ve finished making it.

The Lamborghini Aventador is surely the first car that comes to mind when you think of supercars. Filippo Perini designed this powerful machine inspired by military aviation. You can see the influence of the F-117 Stealth Fighter jet in the geometric shape, the wide hexagonal air intake that looks like it could suck up a small dog, and the raked windscreen, which leaves just enough space for driver and passenger.

On the inside are military-grade buttons and switches, including a little red flip-up switch over the power button. This is just like the catch in fighter jets to prevent accidental firing. Factor in the Lamborghini Aventador’s 0-60mph in 2.9-second acceleration and the F1-style pushrod suspension design, and you have a supercar capable of immense power, easily pushing 217mph as its top speed.

Lamborghini made around 750 a year of this highly desirable car, adding to its luxurious, exclusive nature. It was released just weeks before the beatification of Pope John Paul II in a genius marketing move that may or may not have been deliberate. Production ended in 2022, but we’re bringing it back in 1.8 scale model form, making this the only new Lamborghini Aventador you’ll get in 2023.

Also In Stock - Lotus 72D F1 Car

This premium diecast kit features 100s of pre-decorated parts giving you 20+ hours of build time.

ABOUT THE CAR

This amazing Pocher kit features incredible detail in the monocoque chassis, the suspension and engine components, and even the elaborate cockpit – all of which include individual components for you to put together. The Lotus logo and Emerson Fittipaldi livery are faithfully replicated, printed on high-quality, die-cast pieces. With real rubber tyres and durable plastic details, all this Lotus 72D needs is someone to assemble the whole thing.

The finished model measures 523mm long and 235mm wide. This super-stylish 72D is recreated in 1:8 scale to make it the stand-out star of your Pocher collection.

The Lotus 72 is one of the most beautiful, innovative, and iconic Formula One racing cars of the 1970s. Colin Chapman’s revolutionary idea of moving the radiator from the front of the car to the sidepods allowed a sweeping change in the looks, handling and ability of Formula One cars. Firstly, in Gold Leaf colours and then in the stunning black and gold of JPS, the Lotus 72 swept all before it in the early 1970s, proving to be a classy contender.

Powered by a just as legendary engine - the Ford Cosworth DFV 3.0 V8 - the Lotus mated the power of this world-beating engine with handling that left the rest of the field behind. This chassis – identity number 7 (of 9) - was raced at the 1972 British Grand Prix by the soon-to-be World Champion Emerson Fittipaldi. Around the sweeping confines of the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit, Emerson emerged victorious over the Tyrrell of Jackie Stewart by just four seconds as he charged towards that year’s crown.

A car of this calibre deserves a lot of respect. Our Pocher model kit puts it back on a pedestal where it belongs.
