Bring a splash of Network Rail yellow to your layout! The latest run of Dapol OO Gauge IOA ballast wagons and JNA ā€˜Falcon’ wagons has just arrived in stock at Rails, offering another opportunity to build up your engineering fleet.Ā

With four new running numbers for each wagon type, there’s plenty of choice whether you’re starting a new rake or adding variety to an existing formation. All eight releases carry the distinctive Network Rail yellow livery and are available for Ā£32.25 each – 15% off the Ā£37.95 RRP.

Dapol’s models combine finely moulded bodies with separately fitted details, complemented by carefully printed livery markings. Profiled wheels and NEM coupling pockets complete the specification, giving modellers the flexibility to use compatible alternative couplings.

For a layout project, why not give your engineering sidings a new purpose? Assemble a rake behind a suitable modern diesel, add your own ballast loads, or use the bright yellow finish as the starting point for a weathering project. These wagons offer plenty of scope for creating a busy depot scene or an engineering train heading out to its next worksite.

In Stock Now - IOA BALLAST WAGONS

The IOA ballast wagons, also known as ā€˜Mussels’, are high-sided open wagons designed to transport ballast and spoil. Built in Romania and introduced in 2009, the real vehicles are typically seen in substantial block trains of ten or more wagons. Dapol’s latest batch brings four further identities to the range, making these an appealing addition for anyone recreating modern railway engineering operations.

Prototype Information - JNA 'Falcon Wagons

A large fleet of 'Falcon' wagons were produced by Trinity in Romania for Network Rail in the early 2000s. Since then, they have become a common sight across the UK and are used solely for the transport of ballast or spoil in connection with infrastructure projects or maintenance to the network. The JNAs are always operated in sets of five and are all painted in the distinctive Network Rail yellow colour scheme.
