Dapol's newly tooled range of OO Gauge GWR Diagram N Autocoaches have now arrived in stock at Rails!

A total of seven different models are available catering for GWR crimson lake, GWR chocolate & cream, BR carmine & cream, BR crimson and BR maroon livery options! The models themselves also feature many small detail variations to accurately portray how the vehicles looked in service throughout their various eras.

Each one is available either DCC Ready, DCC Fitted or DCC Sound Fitted! These models are based on the six coaches numbered 36 to 41 constructed during 1907 under Lot 1126 to Diagram ‘N ’. They were built new as driving trailers and not later conversions from old steam rail motors. These coaches were used on branch lines from Cornwall to Wales and retained their gas lighting until they were withdrawn by November 1957.

This model features lots of expertly applied details as based on the prototype, a high level of body detail and excellent running characteristics.

DCC Ready versions have now arrived, with DCC fitted and DCC sound fitted versions expected later.

Prototype Information

Autocoach

An Autocoach could often be seen being propelled down many branch lines by a variety of locomotives that were fitted with special auto push-pull equipment. The driving cab on the Autocoach meant that the locomotive could be controlled from there and negated the requirement to run the loco around at the end of the journey. The format was known as a push-pull train. The models here are specific to the GWR Diagram N coaches built during 1907, of which 6 were constructed.
