Dapol's latest batch of N Gauge Class 156 diesel multiple units has now arrived in stock! Choose from new National Express East Anglia and Northern Trains variations.
These two new models represent two distinct eras of the Class 156's operations - in early privatisation and current era schemes. Both of these liveries saw usage across a number of locations for many years and make for the perfect additional to many modern N Gauge layouts.
An additional variation in East Midlands Railway livery, releasing as part of the Gaugemaster Collection is due to follow along soon - as well as digital fitted versions of the general release models.

Prototype Information
Built by Metro-Cammell in a batch of 114, the Class 156s were commissioned by British Rail to replace ageing first-generation DMUs and loco-hauled passenger services. The class were intended for use on longer journeys with fewer stops, so were fitted with single-leaf doors at the ends of each coach. The 156s have seen heavy use over the years on lines across Scotland, Northern England, the Midlands and East Anglia. The whole fleet are still in service today, as of 2021, and look to be in use for the forseeable future.
