Product Description
Background
This is a 4mm scale model of Tackley Halt Station in Oxfordshire which still survives today in it's rebuilt form on the main line between Oxford and Banbury. Tackley Halt was originally built by the Great Western Railway and opened on April 6th 1931. It consisted of an up and down platform with wooden shelters on each platform. It was refurbished in 1993 and it is this rebuilt form on which the model is based. The platform lengths are somewhat shorter than the prototype in order to fit in with the majority of most modern day layouts, where space is a premium.
The model
The model is moulded in pre-coloured plastic and requires the minimum of painting. For the best results it is best to pre-paint any of the detail parts whilst they are still attached to the sprue, where the individual parts are numbered, to help with identification and assembly.
This is fairly easy kit to assemble when following the instructions included with the item and would prove ideal to a beginner.
