The 1971 Plymouth Satellite marked a significant redesign, adopting Chrysler's "fuselage" styling, which featured a loop-type front bumper and a deeply inset grille. This generation was available in various body styles, including two-door coupes, four-door sedans, and station wagons, each with unique sheet metal. Trim levels ranged from the base RL to the top-of-the-line RS GTX. The Satellite was built on the B-body platform, sharing components with the Dodge Charger and Plymouth Road Runner. Production continued until 1974, after which the Satellite name was discontinued, and Plymouth's intermediate offerings transitioned to the Plymouth Fury nameplate.
