Background information:

The Avro Lancaster wasn't just any bomber, it was a symbol of British resistance during World War II. Over 7,300 of these impressive machines were produced for the Royal Air Force Bomber Command. A particular highlight of their operations was Operation Chastise, in which the dams in the Ruhr area, which supplied important industrial facilities with electricity, were attacked. Using the "bouncing bomb" specially developed for this attack, the 617th Squadron, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Guy Gibson, was able to successfully destroy two of the dams. An exciting and brave part of history that you can now recreate with this kit. Ideal for collectors, history enthusiasts and anyone interested in model building.
