1:148 Scale model of a Scammell Mechanical Horse Flatbed in "Pickfords" livery details. This model is made from die-cast metal and comes complete with a clear jewel display box. Other 1:148 Models are available to add to your vehicle collection.
The Mechanical Horse was a very simple and sturdy vehicle constructed on a steel channel frame with a cab made of wood, the early versions having canvas doors. It came in two sizes, capable of carrying loads of 3-ton and six ton. The vehicles were very manoeuvrable and had a road speed of about 20 mph and could do between 10 and 20 mpg.
