FLIRT of the WestfalenBahn

The WestfalenBahn GmbH (WFB) is a German railway company founded in 2005 with headquarters in Bielefeld, which is now owned by Berlin-based Abellio GmbH. 14 three-part electric multiple units of the type FLIRT from Stadler are used on the 300-kilometer-long route network. The trains reach their maximum speed of 160 km/h on the Osnabrück - Münster and Herford - Bielefeld routes, and a maximum of 140 km/h on the remaining routes. The FLIRT railcars purchased in 2007, which were used in the Teutoburg Forest network until the timetable change in December 2017, have been taken over by the new operator Eurobahn. Since then, the trains have been gradually adapted in terms of their interior and exterior design.
