History:
London & South Eastern was a new area of operation set up as part of the Sectorisation of BR in 1982. In June 1986 it was relaunched as Network SouthEast with a bold new branding in red, white and blue. As well as the third-rail electrified network to the south of London, the NSE network also reached as far west as Exeter and the inner part of the East of England. Former BR-liveried Mk1 coaching stock, such as this Corridor Brake Second, was repainted in the new colour scheme for locomotive-hauled trains on longer-distance services."
