The CIRCUITRON SMAIL™ is a digitally controlled slow motion switch machine designed for DCC-equipped model railway layouts. Built around enhanced Switch-It™ stationary decoder technology from NCE Corporation, it provides smooth, reliable turnout control with full compatibility across NMRA and Digitrax DCC signal formats.

The SMAIL™ functions as a direct replacement for traditional stall-motor turnout machines and is fully compatible with a wide range of scales and layout voltages. It can be configured for automatic non-derailing operation, manual panel control, or integration with detection-based automation systems.

It also shares mechanical compatibility with the Tortoise Slow Motion Switch Machine, including mounting options and remote control accessories.

The SMAIL™ can be programmed via a simple setup process, with advanced configuration available through CV adjustments for fine-tuned control. It supports both DCC power and optional 8–18V DC supply for accessory applications such as crossing gates, semaphore signals, and animated layout features.

When used with detection circuits that provide a ground output, no additional driver circuitry is required. Two control terminals are also included, allowing manual override of DCC commands for panel-based operation.

Internal SPDT switches provide direct control for frog polarity, signals, or panel lighting, simplifying layout wiring and reducing the need for external relays. The SMAIL™ is also compatible with CIRCUITRON remote mounting and signal activation systems, including those used with the Tortoise Slow Motion Switch Machine.
