Details:
The Circuitron DT-1 is a bi-directional train detection system designed for DC-powered model railways, providing reliable and realistic activation of grade crossing signals, warning lights and other automated accessories. Using optical detection technology, the DT-1 senses the presence of trains without requiring any modifications to locomotives or rolling stock, making installation straightforward and compatible with virtually any train.
The system includes four Opto-Sensors, with two sensors assigned to each direction of travel. By monitoring track polarity, the DT-1 automatically determines train direction and activates only the relevant sensor pair. This intelligent operation ensures that crossing signals remain active while a train occupies the crossing and automatically switch off shortly after the last vehicle clears the protected area.
Independent sensitivity adjustments for each direction allow the DT-1 to be fine-tuned for varying room lighting conditions, helping to ensure reliable operation in a wide range of layouts and environments.
