😍 Surprise New Hornby OO Gauge April Announcements

Surprise! Hornby have just unveiled some additional items for their OO Gauge range - including some new steam locos and wagons too!


2025 is an important year for Railway anniversaries - the most famous of which being Railway 200 and the S&DR 200 campaigns. However this year also marks the 80th Anniversary of VE Day as well as the 90th Anniversary of the iconic LNER Class A4 4-6-2. Hornby are set to celebrate all of these with the new items listed below!


A selection of new steam locomotives are now available to pre-order including LNER Class A3 and Class A4s, an LMS Streamlined Coronation and an SR Merchant Navy Class - all presented in demure wartime liveries or resplendent white, where applicable! 


Hornby have also announced some additional variations of their forthcoming 'Salmon' bogie wagons - depicting later BR Departmental versions - including one prefitted with a crane.

World War II 80th Anniversary Collection

To commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the end of World War II in 2025, Hornby have unveiled these four special edition wartime black liveried steam locomotives in OO Gauge - including LNER Class A3 'Flying Scotsman', LNER Class A4 'Sir Ralph Wedgwood', LMS Princess Coronation 'City of Liverpool' and SR Merchant Navy Class 'Shaw Savill'.

LNER CLass A4 90th Anniversary Collection

Celebrating another major anniversary in 2025, is this collection of new LNER Class A4 locomotives - commemorating 90 years since the first one was built at LNER Doncaster Works. Choose from four different locomotives 'Silver Link', 'Quicksilver', 'Silver King' or 'Silver Fox' - all presented in the original and iconic LNER silver colour scheme.

BR Departmental Salmon Wagons

Moving on to some new rolling stock - Hornby have also announced some additions to their range of LMS/BR Salmon wagons in OO Gauge! You can choose from two new Departmental era examples - one of which features an updated tooling for a crane and end platforms! You can also still preorder the other models from the range which you can also see below.

New HM7000 Enhanced Bass Speaker

Lastly, Hornby have also announced a new addition to the HM7000 range - this enhanced bass speaker!
