Revolution N Gauge Class 66

Posted by Warren Bennett on

Revolution Trains have announced a new range of N Gauge Class 66 Diesel Locomotives, all of which are available to pre order now!

Revolution Trains has developed a brand-new tooling of the Class 66 with many different tooling variants to offer the most accurate Class 66 produced in N gauge. Revolution Trains have announced this all new range ahead of Warley this weekend where they expect to have new samples (possibly first decorated samples also!).

Revolution's model builds on the Class 59 with many shared chassis parts and a similar specification. This includes photo etched grilles all round, numerous separate body and detail parts and a plethora of tooling options to allow prototypical variations never offered before in N gauge: bodyshell, bogies, lighting arrangements, horn grilles, cab windows, cab interiors and underframes.

11 versions announced covering a variety of colourful liveries, some never before done in N Gauge.

Revolution Trains expect to start production in late February 2024 with delivery expected late Summer 2024.

DCC Ready and DCC Sound Fitted models to be released as part of this announcement.

DCC Ready - £144.95 (RRP £159.95)
DCC Sound - £239.95 (RRP £254.95)
The specification of all the 66's is built on the 59's as follows:

  • Next generation heavy, diecast chassis with smooth running, low friction and low geared design (weight 100g+)
  • Highly detailed injection moulded body with photo-etched and wire details and separate plastic parts
  • Lift off, easy-access central body section (as per the prototype!) to allow access to the decoder socket and switches
  • Prototype body detail variations e.g.bodyshells, bogies, underframes, headlights, handrails, cab windows, buffer, tie-down loops, lights, sandboxes and couplers
  • Etched nameplates supplied (where appropriate)
