We recently welcomed the team from Bachmann Europe along to our store for their annual Showcase Event and they had plenty of new samples to show us in both OO Gauge and N Gauge!

Bachmann gave us an exclusive first look at their newly announced Class 13 diesel locomotive in OO Gauge! Engineering samples for their hotly anticipated 'master and slave' shunters were on show for us at the event - showcasing the immense levels of detail, accurate tooling variations and features included on these all new models.

Two variations are available to pre-order now in either BR green or BR blue liveries. These are both available DCC ready, pre-fitted with DCC Sound or DCC Deluxe Sound. The latter models featuring the innovative automatic coupling system. Decorated samples will be showcased in  Bachmann's Winter 2025 Announcements on Wednesday 5th November.  These new models are to be produced in strictly limited quantities so  pre-ordering ASAP is highly recommended  to make sure yours is secured.

In case you missed it, we recently announced our latest exclusive model with Bachmann Branchline - the much requested Caledonian Railway 439 Class 0-4-4T steam locomotive in OO Gauge!

This beautiful Caledonian Railway locomotive is to be produced as a OO Gauge model for the first time ever, with six different variations available to pre-order now catering for Caledonian Railway, LMS, British Railways and Preservation era colour schemes. As part of this release we have also joined up with our friends at the National Railway Museum to bring you a special new Railway Icons release (also available at Locomotion Models) depicting No.419 in its 1975 Cavalcade Condition CR lined blue colour scheme.

Design work is now underway with CADs completed and engineering samples expected to arrive. The final models are set to arrive in stock during 2027 and you can keep up to date with the project here at Rails of Sheffield!

Bachmann advised us that they have now signed off the majority of their brand new OO Gauge Class 66 diesel locomotives, which will be being loaded onto a ship bound for the UK imminently! 

These super high detail new models are to be produced in conditions and liveries that this important class have been seen in throughout the service life on the UK's railways in EWS, Direct Rail Services, Freightliner, GB Railfreight and Colas Rail colours.

Bachmann also showed us the latest decorated samples for their newly tooled OO Gauge Class 69 diesel locomotives too! They've advised that some changes have been made to the models - depicted by this new bodyshell for 69003 in GB Railfreight livery - including updated windows to better reflect the real life locos.

Five different models are to be produced so far in all sorts of colourful liveries - with the first releases set to start arriving before Christmas 2025.

Moving over to some of Bachmann's steam locomotives - they had the latest engineering samples for their recently announced LMS Class 8F 2-8-0 on display! Bachmann have let us know that full colour samples are expected for these soon, so stay tuned for those. The final models are expected to arrive sometime during Summer 2026.

Five variations are available to pre-order now catering for variations with riveted or welded tenders in LMS and BR liveries.

Bachmann also showcased the latest decorated samples for their recently announced NER E Class/ LNER Class J71 0-6-0T steam locomotives in OO Gauge! Choose from one of three locomotives in either North Eastern Railway green, LNER black or BR black colour schemes. These newly tooled models are set to arrive during Q1 2026.

We also caught sight of the latest samples for Bachmann's next batch of OO Gauge Class 414 2-HAP electric multple units. Two new models are available to pre-order in brand new liveries not produced in the range previously - BR blue with full yellow ends and BR green with small yellow panels.

We also got the chance to take a look at these decorated samples for the newly tooled range of LSWR Adams Class T3 4-4-0 steam locomotives from EFE Rail! Five variations are available to pre-order now in LSWR green and Southern green liveries - with the final models due for release in Q1 2026.

Finally, Bachmann also had on show these newly tooled LBSCR 'Isle of Wight' coaches from the EFE Rail range in OO Gauge. These models are to be supplied in packs of 4 in colourful SR Maunsell green, SR Malachite green, BR Southern green and BR crimson liveries. Models expected Dec 2025/ Jan 2026.

Announced only recently by Bachmann - we were pleased to get a closer look at the engineering samples for their newly tooled range of GWR Hall and Modified Hall Class steam locomotives in N Gauge! These are heading to us during Easter 2026 and we can't wait to see decorated samples for these soon.

We also took. closer look at the decorated sample for Graham Farish's latest N Gauge Class 150 2-car DMU in the ever-popular GWR green colour scheme! This as well as a new Transport for Wales liveried model is expected between Late 2025 and Early 2026.
