Dapol have revealed decorated samples of their new run of LNER Class B17 4-6-0 steam locomotives in N Gauge!

Five new variations are expected in this run depicting this popular mainline steam locomotive class in LNER green, LNER wartime black, BR Transitional green and BR lined green. Please note that the images show early decorated samples that may not be fully indicative of the final releases.

These models are available as single locomotives either DCC Ready or DCC Fitted. What's more there's also a special Train Pack incoming that comes complete with a BR green example and four Gresley Teak coaches in BR carmine and cream. We expect these to arrive during Q3 2026.

The B17 locomotives were a class of LNER 4-6-0 locomotives designed by Sir Nigel Gresley for passenger haulage on the Great Eastern Line. They first came into operation in 1928. In all 73 were built and continued into service until the early 1960s. During their lifetime there were many amendments and upgrades to the class including a streamlined version. Unfortunately, no examples have survived into preservation, however there are currently “new builds” underway to bring the class back from extinction.
