Kerr, Stuart "Victory" Locomotive Update

When first announced the Planet Industrials Kerr, Stuart "Victory" project was estimated to arrive in late 2021. Whilst the project is still well under way several factors has meant delivery has been slightly delayed.
Following the review of the decorated samples, which were the first fitted with the full setup of Next18 DCC socket and speaker, Planet Industrials chose to make some late changes to the model. These changes have been made to ensure optimum sound performance, and to make the process of fitting a DCC chip more reliable both for factory-fitting and for customers choosing to fit their own decoder.
Planet Industrials have just received a final running sample to sign off. The modifications and the assessment of the new sample has obviously resulted in a delay to the overall production schedule. This has unfortunately been compounded by the general factory situation in China, which is feeling the effects of power shortages and the ongoing disruption of Covid-19 restrictions, and is having a delaying effect on many model railway producers.
We are now estimating that delivery of the Victory production run will be in Summer 2022. While this is a disappointing delay for us all, we feel the right decision to make the changes to the mechanism in order to deliver the model to the quality we would like to see as modellers.

Planet Industrials were founded in 2019 by James Hilton and Stephen Fulljames. These good friends and keen modellers have modelled together for over 10 years and have a real passion for industrial railway. The 'Victory' locomotive is the first model to be produced.

The 1:76 scale 'OO' gauge model features a high torque motor, flywheel driven chassis with darkened RP25-110 profile wheels, highly detailed accurate body with separately applied details and a NEXT18 DCC interface. It will safely negotiate a minimum R2 curve.
