This year marks a significant milestone for Gaugemaster, celebrating their 50th Anniversary! Throughout August, Gaugemaster has been hosting various competitions and events to commemorate their first 50 years of excellence in model railways.
Today, they are proud to unveil their brand new model railway control systems: the Infinity range. This highly anticipated series is now available, with stock expected to arrive at Rails of Sheffield very soon.
Gaugemaster Infinity offers today’s railway modeller complete control of their layout in a contemporary way. Available as both Analogue and Digital versions, Infinity delivers all the benefits of conventional control with a new, modern feel and some added features we think you will love.
The INFINITY Analogue system revolutionises analogue control and redefines what conventional analogue control should be in the 21st century.
Infinity Analogue allows you to control all your separate track sections with a single Remote handset. Oh, we didn’t mention it was wireless? Yes, it is and the latest Bluetooth connectivity allows a range of 50m rarely afforded to modellers who use analogue control who have no desire to switch to DCC.
Infinity Solo gives you single track control in seconds. It’s also extendable so if you wanted to add more tracks, this can be achieved with one of the Acolyte Remote Units. This can give you up to ten track control.
The INFINITY digital system delivers not what design engineers think you need but what modellers know it needs.
With Infinity Sovereign no longer do you need to deliberate between wired and wireless handsets as this digital system comes with a wireless remote out of the box, and that’s just one of its many features.
As standard this system comes with a host of customizable features to run your layout how you want. This controller is designed by modellers for modellers, with operation in mind as well as being elegant to look at. Full control of your digital locomotives and accessories can be achieved with this system which has been built with usability in mind.
The Sovereign base unit can control two handsets connected to it at any one time, but if more operators are needed then you can expand the system by adding a Consort unit. Each Consort allows an additional two Remotes to be connected to the system, and you can connect multiple consorts together, how’s that for easy expansion?
With a raft of complimentary accessory products, buy Gaugemaster Infinity from the people that designed and made it, here in the United Kingdom.
It’s Model Railway Control [and beyond]
General
Q: What is the difference between Infinity Analogue & Infinity Digital?
A: Gaugemaster has developed two systems under the Infinity umbrella to control your layout. Infinity Analogue is a wireless system that controls your analogue layout and allows you to use accessories controlled by any digital accessory decoder. Infinity Digital is our new DCC wireless controller. The handsets look very similar but are unique to each control system offering different benefits on each.
Q: Does either Infinity Analogue or Digital work with an app?
A: No, we have developed both systems to utilise wireless handsets. This gives a dedicated hands-on approach to control, not relying on other devices such as phones or tablets.
Q: What batteries do the Gaugemaster Infinity handsets use?
A: Gaugemaster Infinity handsets run on 2 x AA/R6/UM-3 batteries, which are included.
Q: Can the system be used outside?
A: Yes, but the system isn’t waterproof. So, we recommend keeping the base unit inside and only using the controller outside when it isn’t raining!
Q: What is the range of the handsets?
A: The Bluetooth modules are rated at a range of 50m, although with a clear line of sight this could be larger.
Analogue Control System
Q: How is the Gaugemaster Infinity Analogue different to traditional Analogue controllers?
A: Infinity Analogue is a wireless Analog controller that gives you the freedom to move around your layout. You can control points and accessories directly from the handset. Utilising the Gaugemaster Infinity Acolyte units you can also control up to 10 tracks from a single handset, giving you direct, quick control over your layout.
Q: What Scales is Infinity Analogue suitable for?
A: Infinity Analogue has a 1.35amp power supply per output, which makes it most suitable for N, TT, HO, and OO Scales.
Q: Will my old locomotives work with Infinity Analogue?
A: Gaugemaster Infinity has been developed to operate all the leading brands of Model railway locomotives, and many models produced through the years will be suitable to be run and have been tested on this system.
Q: Can I run digital locomotives with my Infinity Analogue?
A: Yes, you can run digital locomotives on Infinity Analogue as long as they have an analogue running capability. Please check with the manufacture for details. You can also adjust CVs if required on the Gaugemaster Infinity units.
Q: How many tracks and handsets can Infinity analogue control up to?
A: An Infinity system can run up to ten tracks and ten handsets on one layout with the addition of Gaugemaster infinity acolyte modules.
Q: Can multiple Infinity layouts work side by side?
A: Yes, you can have multiple Infinity layouts in the same area. Our controllers are paired with their respective main units meaning they will not interfere with the operation of other layouts.
Digital Control System

A: To start with, Gaugemaster Infinity Digital is wireless as standard, this feature is not an added extra. It is capable of doing everything you would expect, with additional features you will love. Unlike other systems, ours can control up to 68 locomotive functions and we have added a unique Multiple Working Consist which makes double-heading trains easier to set up and operate. We have included an animation sequencing feature that results in even more realistic control of your accessories, and these are just some of the features.
Q: What Scales does Infinity Digital run?
A: Infinity Digital has a 3.5amp power supply, which is suitable for most N, TT, HO, OO.
Q: How many locomotive functions can this unit manage?
A: This unit can manage up to 68 functions on your locomotives! Currently some locomotives go as far as 32 functions, but we have future proofed this system for when manufactures exceed this.
Q: Can I remap loco functions from latching to static?
A: Yes, all functions can be set to momentary or latching if required.
Q: Can I use other Digital Controllers with Infinity?
A: Yes, you can plug other digital systems, such as the Gaugemaster Prodigy system, into the unit's sniffer port, but please refer to the Infinity instructions on how to safely do this.
Q: Can I only use other brands of DCC equipment with Gaugemaster Infinity Digital?
A: Yes, All NMRA compliant locomotive and accessory decoders will work with Gaugemaster Infinity.
Q: Can I transfer my saved locomotives to another controller?
