It's time for the latest Rapido Trains UK monthly update, and there's plenty to get excited about! This month's announcement brings  two brand-new tooling reveals, alongside two fresh batches of existing models covering both OO Gauge  and OO9 Narrow Gauge! 

But that's not all— Rapido has also provided a huge number of project updates, giving us a closer look at what's progressing behind the scenes and what's coming next. There's a lot to get through, so scroll down to discover all the latest news, announcements and updates from Rapido!

First up, Rapido have announced a massive range of new GWR Goods Vans in OO Gauge including RCH Dia. G31/ G43 'MOGO', Dia.X9 'MICA' and Dia.V32 'TEVAN' variations! The GWR were well known for producing freight vehicles designed for very specific types of loads or produce. The MOGO, MICA and TEVAN were great examples of this type of specialised vehicle.A total of 17 'MOGOs' and 15 'MICA/ TEVAN' vans are to be produced - with the range including 4 main body types, a wealth of detail variations and the usual attention to detail you've come to expect from Rapido. Rapido's second new tooling announcement today is an all-new range of LSWR/ WD 20 Ton Brake Vans in OO Gauge - featuring their most diverse selection of liveries to date in one project! You can choose from all sorts of  LSWR, WD, Pre-Grouping, Big-Four or British Railways variations - meaning there's sure to be a model for your collection!These vans were produced en-masse by numerous builders and Rapido have tried to include as many variations as possible such as different ducket types, roofs, sides, buffers, axleboxes, handrails and more. There's a whopping 21 different models to choose from so pre-order yours today at Rails!

Next, Rapido have announced yet more new versions of their extremely popular OO9 Narrow Gauge All-Purpose Wagons that will release as part of their second batch!  There are some fun and colourful variations to choose from such as 'G. Fawkes'  and Ffestiniog Railway liveries - utilising numerous body tooling variations. What's more, we've commissioned some new exclusives in this batch which are detailed below!

Following along from the announcement of our officially licensed Swizzels range in OO Gauge recently, we're pleased to be bringing one of these popular new wagons to OO9 Narrow Gauge - this distinctive 'Love Hearts' wagon produced on the distinctive Tank wagon tooling.

Following along from our previously produced OO9 Narrow Gauge War Department wagon packs from Rapido which are in stock now, we're pleased to announce another new triple pack depicting these eye-catching Naval Store vehicles in plain black.

In more exciting narrow gauge news, Rapido have just announced an expansion to their range of upcoming Peckett & Sons 'Cranmore' Class 0-4-0 locomotives - a wonderful  'what if?' large tank variation! This hefty variant features a much larger saddle tank that stretches forward over the locomotive's smokebox for a distinctive look.There will be two new variations to choose from utilising this updated tooling in Peckett & Son's standard green (matching 'Gamecock' in the main range) as well as a striking lined black example that Rapido have named ' Pugbash'.

If those exciting new announcements weren't enough for you - we've got a load of project updates to share with you too - the first of which being  engineering samples of the previously announced Lancashire & Yorkshire Class 25 'Ironclad' 0-6-0 steam locomotive in OO Gauge.These early samples showcase the mixture of diecast and injection moulded plastic construction present on the locomotives which combine to bring you a heavy-weight well performing model with exquisite detailing.

Next, Rapido have also received engineering samples of their recently announced SER/ SECR Round-ended open wagons in OO Gauge! The factory have sent over a sample for each of the three major tooling variations and they're shaping up very nicely indeed. The wagon bodies include full internal and underframe detail, so it's not going to matter if you choose to model yours empty, or with a load; they are still going to look fantastic.

Arriving rather swiftly after their first announcement, Rapido have now revealed engineering samples of their eagerly anticipated  'Evolution' OO Gauge Horseboxes and Open Carriage Trucks  as well as the applicable cart loads for the latter! Both are a perfect complement to the Evolution Coach range, as there’s a matching counterpart for almost every Batch 1, Batch 2 and Batch 3 livery. So, there’s a place for both the Horsebox and OCT in everyone's collection.

As part of this update, Rapido have also let us know that some exciting products are due for release soon - including the highly anticipated Midland Railway 483 Class 4-4-0 steam locomotives in OO Gauge. This Regal loco is going to be a real crown jewel in your collection, and with Midland and S&DJR  liveried  Evolution Coaches already in the hands of many customers, we know there are lots of you champing at the bit to get your hands on these models. These are set to arrive in  August 2026.

Hot on the heels of the Midland 483 Class is little ' Ivor the Engine'!  The Train Packs and Rolling Stock Packs have now been completed and are on the sea from China.
