Oxford Rail have revealed pre-production decorated samples for their long awaited newly tooled LNER Class J26 0-6-0 steam locomotives in OO Gauge!
Four variations are due for release including an NER lined black example, one in LNER lined black and two British Railways black models - all with accurate detail variations depending on the era. We hope to see these arrive into stock sometime during late 2024.
These models fill in a gap for Eastern region modellers and promise to feature a robust specification at quite a low price point relative to other locomotives of this size. Each variation is available either DCC ready or pre-fitted with Digital Sound.

Prototype Information
The LNER J26 was built by the London North Eastern Railway company between 1904 and 1905. They were based on the earlier P2 class but featured a slightly improved boiler pressure and tractive effort. 50 of these locomotives were built in total, 30 were built at the Darlington works and 20 at the Gateshead works. They all lasted into BR ownership but were all scrapped with none of them surviving into preservation.
