There’s a huge amount of variety in Hornby’s latest delivery, with fresh arrivals spanning both OO Gauge and TT:120 and covering everything from steam and diesel traction to coaches and wagons.

OO Gauge highlights include the new ‘Scotsman in Australia’ twin pack featuring Flying Scotsman and Pendennis Castle, the latest SECR H Class, a new LNER Class 91 ‘Neville Hill’, two fresh Ruston 88DS industrial shunters, plus the latestf Class 56 depicting No.56047 in TransRail livery with DCC Sound. There’s also new Mk4 stock, including standard, first, buffet and DVT vehicles, alongside the eye-catching Drax Biomass 50th Anniversary wagon.

TT:120 modellers have plenty to get excited about too, with the new First Great Western Class 43 HST pack, a BR 21T Mineral Wagon triple pack, and an LNER Toad E brake van all now joining the range.

One of the standout Hornby arrivals is the new OO Gauge ‘Scotsman in Australia’ Twin Pack, bringing together A3 No.4472 ‘Flying Scotsman’ and GWR Castle Class No.4079 ‘Pendennis Castle’ as they appeared during their famous time in Australia.

While Flying Scotsman has appeared in Australian guise before, this is the FIRST TIME Pendennis Castle has ever been tooled in its Australian condition, making the pack particularly significant. The real locomotive spent more than two decades in Australia from 1977 until 2000, before returning to the UK; it has been back in steam since 2021 and has since toured across the country.

Hornby has added some lovely touches too. Pendennis Castle’s headlight is fully working, while the detail pack includes etched numberplates. Flying Scotsman is supplied with both ‘West Australian’ and ‘Flying Scotsman’ headboards, and both locomotives come complete with crew figures.

Another great arrival from Hornby is the new TT:120 Class 43 HST set finished in the striking First Great Western green and gold livery.

The pack features power cars 43189 ‘Railway Heritage Trust’ and 43136, recreating one of the most recognisable HST colour schemes of the privatisation era. The deep green bodywork with gold detailing gives the set a very distinctive look and makes it a great choice for anyone modelling the Western Region from the late 1990s into the 2000s.

With the HST being such an iconic part of British railway history, this new TT:120 release is a particularly welcome addition to the scale and an ideal centrepiece for a modern-image layout.

Hornby has also added two new OO Gauge Ruston 88DS 4-wheel diesel shunters to the range, giving industrial and depot modellers a couple of very different options.

The first is No.97088 in Loadhaul livery, bringing a much more modern freight-sector look to this compact industrial design. Alongside it is a Glenochil Yeast Factory version, offering something far more site-specific and characterful for industrial layouts.

The Ruston 88DS is a great fit for yards, factories, works and small industrial sidings, where a full-size main line locomotive would be overkill. Their compact size also makes them particularly useful on layouts with tighter space.

Also new in OO Gauge is Hornby’s latest Class 91 electric locomotive, depicting No.91127 ‘Neville Hill’ in LNER’s special heritage InterCity livery.

This striking scheme was introduced as a deliberate nod back to the classic InterCity colours associated with the Class 91s earlier in their careers, giving the locomotive a brilliant mix of modern identity and unmistakable 1980s/90s nostalgia.

That makes 91127 a particularly appealing release for East Coast Main Line modellers, especially when paired with Hornby’s matching Mk4 coaches and DVT in the same heritage-inspired colours.

Hornby has also added a fresh selection of Railroad Range Mk4 coaching stock in classic InterCity livery, giving OO Gauge modellers an affordable way to build up a complete East Coast Main Line formation.

The new arrivals include First Class, Standard Class and Buffet vehicles, alongside a matching Driving Van Trailer No.82200, all finished in the familiar InterCity colours that became synonymous with the Class 91 and Mk4 sets.

Another fresh Hornby arrival is OO Gauge Class 56 No.56047, finished in distinctive Civil Engineers / Transrail livery and supplied DCC Sound Fitted straight from the box.

The Class 56s were built with heavy freight work very much in mind, and by the sectorisation and early privatisation eras they could be seen on a huge variety of demanding duties. This Civil Engineers / Transrail appearance gives No.56047 a particularly colourful later-period identity and makes it a great choice for 1990s freight layouts.

With factory-fitted DCC sound adding even more presence, this is a strong new release for anyone looking to recreate the unmistakable atmosphere of heavy British diesel freight.

Hornby’s OO Gauge SECR H Class 0-4-4T is back in the range, and this latest release sees No.161 return in the ever-popular SECR lined green livery.

It’s easy to see why this colour scheme remains such a favourite with Southern and pre-grouping modellers. The elaborate lining and rich green finish really suit the compact proportions of the H Class, giving the model plenty of presence despite its relatively small size.

The H Class was a versatile passenger tank locomotive, well suited to suburban and branch line work, making it a great choice for SECR and early Southern Railway layouts.

Another eye-catching new Hornby arrival is the OO Gauge Drax Biomass wagon finished in a special gold 50th Anniversary livery.

This one-off colour scheme makes the model stand out immediately, celebrating 50 years of Drax with a striking finish that’s very different from the usual freight liveries seen on modern bulk wagons.

It’s a great choice for contemporary freight modellers, collectors of special-livery stock, or anyone looking to add something a little more unusual to a modern OO Gauge formation.

Rounding off the latest TT:120 arrivals are Hornby’s new CDA hopper wagons, available either as individual vehicles or convenient three-wagon packs.

These distinctive bogie hoppers are a great choice for anyone modelling modern bulk freight traffic, and the option of buying them singly or in packs makes it easy to build up a longer, more convincing rake at your own pace.
