Product Features
Highly detailed model with separately fitted parts including roof equipment, pipework, rails, exhausts, pantographs etc.
Fully detailed and painted passenger interiors and cabs
Twin Powerful 5-pole motor with flywheel s (low profile mechanism in each of the end cars)
Can be run with or without the central 'power pack' diesel generator car as per the real prototypes
Digital & Sound capability - 2 or 3 x 21-pin decoders required - accessed via magnetic roof covers
Each DMS coach has a sugar-cube speaker pre-fitted and concealed behind the driver’s cab which will provide the electric sounds and pantograph, as well as direction-specific horn, driver sounds and more.
To mimic the prototype, the Class 755 power pack will be responsible for the diesel sounds from the train. To facilitate this, and in a Hornby first, a third decoder can be fitted inside the PP with an ABR speaker to provide bassy diesel engine thrash.
DCC control with the HM7000 decoder offers advanced light and sound functionality with event sequencing, including:
- Day and night running lights, and prototypically correct start-up lighting procedures where the Class 755’s headlights automatically turn on in the brighter night-mode before dimming for daytime operation.
- Drivers cab light and cab step light, speed controlled to be off when moving and turning on again when the train is stationary. The cab light illuminates the intricately decorated console interior.
- Coach door lights, separately controllable between left and right side depending on where the platform is.
- Destination announcements, which can automatically be played with coach door opening and closing sounds and can cycle through station names after every stop.
- Headlight control when running multiple FLIRTSs together, which will require consisting DCC functionality. It is mechanically possible to couple two Class 755’s using the articulated Scharfenberg coupler on the DMS coach which enable multi-unit operation.

Prototype Information
The British Rail Class 755 is a class of bi-mode multiple unit train built by Stadler Rail for Greater Anglia. Part of the FLIRT modular train family, the trains first entered service on 29 July 2019 and are used on regional and local services throughout East Anglia.
The Class 755 has three or four passenger vehicles, along with a separate power pack vehicle containing two or four Deutz V8 16 litre diesel engines and generators. The unusual layout for a British train allows a lower than normal floor level, enabling step free boarding at standard height platforms.
As more units have gradually entered service, it has allowed Greater Anglia to withdraw all of their diesel multiple units in favour of the 755s. All 38 of the units have entered service. The plan was for the units to be assigned to Greater Anglia's more local and regional routes throughout Norfolk and Suffolk, which include the Wherry Lines (Norwich to Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft) and the Bittern Line to Sheringham.
The units would also be assigned to services on the Breckland Line and on the Ipswich–Ely line, as well as the Felixstowe and Sudbury branch lines.
