Prototype Information

The IWB Cargowaggons were produced to transport palletised cargo internationally between Europe and the UK. In later years, the wagons have also been used as barrier wagons for new rolling stock. The IWB wagons were some of the first truly ‘large’ wagons seen in use on Britain’s railways.

Built in 1977, these huge vehicles can still be seen in use to this day, often as barrier vehicles for the delivery of rolling stock.
