Heljan Class 37/4 O Gauge

Posted by Warren Bennett on

It's a busy period at Heljan HQ with more decorated samples of the ever growing diesel O Gauge range.

Today's update is for the next batch of Class 37/4, hopefully expected Summer 2022.

These enormously popular refurbished Type 3s were fitted with electric train heating equipment (ETH) to haul passenger trains in Scotland and Wales in the mid-1980s. Thanks to their exploits on the West Highland and Far North Lines they retain a strong enthusiast following even now.

This helped the first two runs of the HELJAN O gauge model to sell out quickly, prompting an unprecedented third batch featuring some of the most popular liveries and names carried by the sub-class.

Please note, these are first decorated samples. Several issues have been identified in the application of the liveries and will be corrected before production starts.

The new batch of locos features several fully decorated locomotives and, for the first time, factory weathered editions.

The expected models are below:

#3741 BR Blue Large Logo unnumbered (re-release)
#3745 Railfreight Triple Grey (re-release)
#3753 Railfreight Petroleum 37418 Pectinidae
#3754 BR Large Logo 37426 Y Lein Fach/Vale of Rheidol
#3755 BR Large Logo 37404 Ben Cruachan WEATHERED
#3756 Railfreight Construction 37425 Sir Robert McAlpine/Concrete Bob WEATHERED
#3757 Railfreight Distribution 37413 Loch Eil Outward Bound
