Last weekend saw the annual Rapido Railex event take place at Maidstone Market Hall!
Rails were delighted to be a part of this fantastic show and as part of it we were able to secure some EXCLUSIVE new images of some forthcoming Rapido projects to share with you here!
SECR G CLASS 4-4-0 3D PRINT SAMPLE
First off, we're delighted to share this 3D printed sample of our EXCLUSIVE SECR G Class 4-4-0 steam locomotive in OO Gauge! The fascinating story of this gorgeous class is finally to be told in model form for the first time ever.
Our exclusive model will be available in one of five liveries depicting SECR green, SECR grey and SR olive green liveries. This model is being produced alongside the LNER Class D40 4-4-0 locomotive (aka GNoSR V & F Class). The ' G Class' locomotives were of the same design but were sold to the SECR instead of the GNoSR due to a lack of funds.

SR U CLASS 2-6-0 3D PRINT SAMPLE
Rapido also showed us this new 3D printed sample for their recently announced Southern Railway U Class 2-6-0 steam locomotive in OO Gauge!
This often requested model is finally being produced in OO RTR for the first time and promises a huge specification! Ten different variations are to be produced catering for various different SR olive green, SR black and BR black livery schemes.

HR LOCH CLASS 4-4-0 3D PRINT SAMPLE
Rounding off a trio of new 3D printed samples, we also got to take a look at this new sample for Rapido's OO Gauge Highland Railway 'Loch' Class 4-4-0 steam locomotive!
This new release will satisfy demand for more Scottish region models - with all sorts of colourful liveries included. Choose from one of eight models in HR Jones lined green, HR Drummond lined green, HR Drummond plain green, HR Smith plain green, LMS lined crimson lake, LMS lined black and Highland Railway yellow colour schemes.

OO9 NARROW GAUGE ENGINEERING SAMPLES
Whilst at the show we also got to take a closer look at these new engineering samples for Rapido's forthcoming new OO9 Narrow Gauge Range! Including the "Sirdar" short-tank and long-tank steam locomotives and a range of the different wagons too!
This massive range hugely expands the options available for narrow gauge modellers with these adorable and highly detailed locomotives and rolling stock.

EVOLUTION COACH DECORATED SAMPLES
Finally, Rapido had decorated samples for some of the first batch of their upcoming Evolution Bogie coaches on display for us to see!
These hugely anticipated coaches are selling super fast and we have limited quantities remaining for this first batch which is in production now!

What good is a model railway show, without some amazing layouts?! Rapido's Railex had some amazing model railways on display this year and we couldn't help but nip around the show and snap some photos.
