We recently welcomed the team from Hornby to our store for their annual Showcase Event in our Flagship store!
The team brought along a massive arrangement of new in stock and forthcoming models across the OO Gauge and TT:120 Scale ranges - including some new product samples that you may not have seen before.
We took some time to catchup with Hornby's Michael Day and filmed a video to showcase all of their new samples which you can view below. We also grabbed some new shots of these samples - all of which can be browsed below.

OO GAUGE REBUILT MERCHANT NAVY 4-6-2 - 3D PRINTED SAMPLE
First off, Hornby showed us an early 3D printed sample of their newly announced, freshly tooled Rebuilt Merchant Navy 4-6-2 steam locomotive in OO Gauge. This early sample gives you an initial indication as to the detail levels you'll be able to see on the final releases.
Hornby have so far announced a single variation depicting No.35028 'Clan Line' in BR green with late crest, in it's current preserved condition. This exciting new model will feature all the bells and whistles you've come to expect from Hornby's top quality premium models - and is available either DCC Ready or DCC Sound/ Smoke fitted.
OO GAUGE RAILROAD CLASS 60 DIESEL - 3D PRINTED SAMPLE
Hornby also displayed this early 3D printed sample of their newly tooled Railroad Range Class 60 diesel locomotive. This all new version of this popular heavy freight diesel is designed to provide a robust & quality model at a great low price to offer new entrants to the hobby a lower cost way to get started.
Three variations have so far been announced, either DCC Ready or DCC Sound Fitted - in EWS, DB Cargo and Railfreight Coal Sector liveries. These are expected to arrive between Q4 2026 and Q1 2027.
TT:120 SCALE COALFIELD TRAIN SET - DECORATED SAMPLE
We also got to take a closer look at Hornby's newly announced TT:120 Scale "Coalfield" Train Set, which includes an eye-catching Railfreight Coal Sector liveried Class 37 as well as a trio of iconic HFA 'merry-go-round' hopper wagons. This set is perfect for recreating iconic coal trains of the Era 7 period.
Whether you’re a beginner, returning to the hobby or a seasoned railway modeller, this starter set has everything you need to get started in the space-saving scale of ‘Tabletop’ TT:120. This set includes a highly detailed model of a Class 37 Diesel locomotive, three colourful wagons, oval starter track, siding and controller. We expect this to arrive during September 2026.
OO GAUGE 'SCOTSMAN IN AUSTRALIA' PACK - DECORATED SAMPLE
Hornby have also showcased one half of their upcoming "Scotsman in Australia" twin pack which is due for release in Q3 2026. This exciting new double pack includes Class A3 4472 'Flying Scotsman' as well as GWR 4079 'Pendennis Castle' as shown here!
This new edition of 'Pendennis Castle' features a retooled body to include the massive front headlight that was fitted to the locomotive for during it's time in Australia. The pack focuses on the tour the two locomotives took part in during 1989.
OO GAUGE DUBLO DIECAST DELTIC DP1 (NRM EDITION) - DECO SAMPLE
Following the recent release of their incredible newly tooled Dublo Diecast Deltic DP1 locomotive in OO Gauge - Hornby have now received this decorated sample of their second edition depicting the locomotive in it's current preserved condition at the National Railway Museum's sister location "Locomotion" in Shildon.
This incredible new model is entirely diecast, includes a powerful motor, DCC & Sound/ Smoke capabilities and so much more. This new edition of DP1 has proven to be enormously popular so we highly recommend placing a pre-order for this version to ensure that you do not miss out.
OO GAUGE RAILROAD CLASS 90 ELECTRICS - DECORATED SAMPLES
These classic Hornby Class 90 electric locomotives are returning to the range in 2026! This stalwart Hornby model is back in two new liveries including the iconic Intercity Swallow as well as EWS maroon and gold too. These robust Railroad tooling models are the perfect entry point for newcomers to the hobby.
We expect these models to arrive in stock soon - during Q2 2026!
OO GAUGE RAILROAD CLASS 3F 'JINTY' - DECORATED SAMPLE
Hornby have also showcased this decorated sample of their new Railroad Range Class 3F 'Jinty' 0-6-0T steam locomotive in OO Gauge - complete in this eye-catching freelance livery. This model is listed as 'Hart & Weaver Limited' - which is a nod to some of Hornby's lead development staff!
This OO gauge RailRoad model of "Jinty" No.5 is perfect for shunting your industrial sidings and is set to arrive soon during Q2 2026.
