We're delighted to announce an exciting new partnership between Rails of Sheffield and Swizzels, bringing together two much-loved British names to create a deliciously nostalgic range of officially licensed OO gauge wagons!

Produced by Dapol, the first collection features four eye-catching wagons inspired by some of the nation's favourite sweets. The launch range includes the iconic Drumstick van in both modern and retro liveries, a vibrant Refreshers van and a striking Love Hearts tanker, each faithfully decorated using official Swizzels branding.

To make these models even sweeter, every wagon includes an applicable free pack of Swizzels sweets. Better still, the Love Hearts wagon comes with an exclusive custom pack of Love Hearts created especially for Rails of Sheffield, making it a truly unique collector's item. Each model is presented in special collectors packaging too!

This range offers a perfect blend of nostalgia, fun and collectability. As officially licensed Swizzels products, these wagons capture the colourful personality of some of Britain's best-loved sweets in miniature form.

We're producing these in very limited quantities so we highly recommend placing a pre-order today to ensure yours is guaranteed! We currently expect these to arrive during Q4 2026.

Learn More About the Swizzels Brand

For over 90 years, Swizzels has been crafting some of the UK’s most beloved sweets, including household favourites like Love Hearts, Refreshers, and Drumsticks.

Founded in 1928, the company has grown from humble beginnings into one of Britain’s most enduring and iconic confectionery brands. Swizzels takes pride in its strong family-business roots and a company culture built on innovation, teamwork, and care.

Alfred and Maurice Matlow launched Matlow Bros. Ltd making jelly sweets in a small factory in London. The Matlows joined forces with another sweet factory owner David Dee to share factory space in East London. Swizzels specialised in manufacturing fizzy sweets in compressed tablet form. Swizzels Ltd. was formed.

In 1940, battered by the London Blitz during the Second World War, both companies decided to relocate to the current premises in New Mills. They moved into a former textile mill where wicks for miners' lamps were once made. The evacuation was originally intended as a temporary measure but became permanent. The mill, which is over 150 years old, was rebuilt after a fire in 1883 and is now a major landmark in New Mills, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Sett Valley.

This incredible company is set to mark it's 100th anniversary in 2028 and Rails looks forward to celebrating this with them!
