Such was its success, that 512 were built by Brush at Loughborough and at BR’s Crewe Works between 1962 and 1968. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePre-TOPS, these locomotives were known as ‘Brush 4s’ (Brush Type 4). This example was introduced in February 1965, allocated to Swansea Landore, and soon after received the name ‘Isambard Kingdom Brunel’.
