In January 1986 it was reclassified to 37\/4 and renumbered 37422. The locomotive has worn several liveries and had several different operators, including EWS, DB Schenker, and DRS. It became part of the Harry Needle Railroad Company spot hire fleet based at Barrow Hill, which was taken over by Swietelsky, an Austrian-based railway construction and maintenance contractor, in January 2025.
