Product description

Heljan's third ‘O’ gauge steam locomotive will depict another Great Western Railway classic, the ‘2251’ Class 0-6-0, better known as a ‘Collett Goods’. Sharing its tender with Heljan's ‘43XX’ 2-6-0, this model will feature a similar specification and will be an ideal companion for its predecessors.

The GWR 2251 Class was built in 1930 by GWR Swindon Works. These locomotive were mainly used for mixed freight and passenger services on routes which had a restiction on weight. In many ways, the 2251s were modernised Dean Goods, sharing the main dimensions, but having more modern features such as taper boilers and full cabs. The 2251 class withdrawn between 1958 – 1965.
