Heljan O Gauge Updates 01/05/2019
Due next month are Heljan's O gauge Class 37 locomotives. The Class 37/4 diesels, which look set to be extremely popular with modellers of the colourful Sectorisation and Privatisation eras. Six liveries cover the sub-class from its introduction in the mid-1980s through to the EWS period of the 2000s (se below). Both the ‘07s’ and ’37/4s' are en route from China now and due to arrive in the UK in mid- to late-June.

Looking further ahead, Heljan are making good progress on many other O gauge projects for release in 2019/20. The eagerly-anticipated Class 50 looks set to follow the ’37/4s’ with decorated samples now being assessed prior to release in September, with the Class 55 rerun due in October. The Class 03 shunters are undergoing final ‘tweaks’ but should be available in the autumn, while the updated Class 33 (Versions 2 and 3) have been approved and we are now awaiting the delivery of decorated samples.
The first engineering prototypes of our O gauge Class 117, 121 and 122 railcars have also been received and the first samples of the GWR AEC Railcar and Class 17 are expected this month - more details on these projects for release in 2020 will be available soon. Finally, CAD work is now complete on our fully revised Class 47s and tooling work is due to start this month.
