HUO Wagon Pack 04/06/2018

Delivery Delay with Rails Limited / Locomotion HUO pack produced by Accurascale.

Accurascale were delighted to be commissioned by Rails Limited and the National Railway Museum to produce a special pack of our first British model, the 24.5-ton HUO coal hopper, reflecting the first three of the type built in Shildon Wagon Works, now home to Locomotion.

This relationship is a perfect match in a drive for excellence, museum standard models from all three parties, with the aim to give the British outline model railway enthusiast the very best quality and accurate models possible.

Part of this high standard is rigorous quality control processes. Unfortunately, after an intense checking process by Accurascale when the models arrived from China, a manufacturing issue was discovered on the Rails Limited / Locomotion packs. Although the flaw was minute in size, it would be against the ethos of Accurascale, Rails Limited and Locomotion to release these models in this condition.

Swift action has now been taken with Accurascale’s factory, who have begun to remanufacture the wagons in China.

All parties are disappointed that this issue has occurred, as well as the delay in delivery to customers. The corrections of the wagons has become the factory’s premier priority, and they will see a completion and delivery date of early July 2018.

We would like to apologise to all customers who have placed a preorder with Rails Limited and Locomotion and thank you for your patience and understanding on this matter. We pledge that when the corrected wagons arrive into your collections and layouts, complete with certificate and special presentation packaging, the delay will be well worth it.
