Our 1:76 scale replica is based on the vehicle used by the Merseyside Metropolitan Ambulance Service and appears in white with the red Day-Glo stripe running round the sides and across the rear doors. Black printing on the cab doors indicates the ambulance served Stockport and further exterior trim is finished in black or chrome while additional detail to the front radiator grille sees two blue lights between the chrome headlights.  The roof also has an air horn\/siren painted red and two blue roof beacons. The interior is equally opulent with a clinical white floor, red front seats and red dashboard with rear seating moulded silver grey. It is registered in Maryland as AA 00 00.  The tooling modifications on this release incorporate the option of four roof lights and a roof beacon. Around 1952, the late Eric Middleton bought the locomotive directly from the Hollands in Swadlincote, Derbyshire for about £250. However, Eric restored the engine completely and sold it to the Hardwick family who rallied it extensively in the 1980s.
